Philanthropic Agencies
Philanthropic integration into strategic initiatives and the culture of non-profit healthcare organizations is a new concept. Philanthropy has helped the poor benefit from expensive medicine distributed free of cost. But this is at best, a short term measure. A more sustainable method and one that is increasingly being recognized is to tune the price of the drug to the purchasing power of the weaker sections. This can only be done by discovering novel therapies and introducing drugs at a lower price.
