Join the community -  Every user will have a profile on the OSDD portal where they can upload information, credentials and a photograph. Become a Sponsor The OSDD movement requires strong commitment from sponsors and philanthropic agencies. Sponsors can be either individuals or corporates willing to contribute significant funding as part of their social responsibility. The sponsors can also contribute to this movement by becoming partners and sharing their resources. Some examples are listed below: • In-kind donations of databases and resources. • Laboratory access or sharing technological capabilities. • Computing time/bandwidth/compute. • Encouraging the OSDD contributors by way of monetary or in-kind rewards. • Contribution of resources/datasets/molecule libraries. Companies can undertake these activities individually or as joint initiatives as partners. Philanthropic Agencies Philanthropic integration into strategic initiatives and the culture of non-profit healthcare organizations is a new concept. Philanthropy has helped the poor benefit from expensive medicine distributed free of cost. But this is at best, a short term measure. A more sustainable method and one that is increasingly being recognized is to tune the price of the drug to the purchasing power of the weaker sections. This can only be done by discovering novel therapies and introducing drugs at a lower price.
