Crowd Sourcing Activities Modeled after the open-source software
community like Linux and the success of open source projects like WWW and Human
Genome Project, OSDD synergize the concepts of crowd sourcing and social
networking methods for drug discovery. Towards this, OSDD has successfully
brought together students, scientists, researchers, academicians, institutions,
and corporations across the globe committed to the discovery of novel drugs for
neglected tropical diseases on a single platform. Currently OSDD community
comprises over 7900 participants from more than 130 countries. OSDD has thus
created a new paradigm for distributed co-creation through crowd sourcing and
the application of social media for research. OSDD has been organizing a number
of crowd-sourcing activities from time to time, involving large scale community
participation. |
